Venice Freelancers: Mobile Notary and Live Scan Made Easy

Venice is known for its artists, makers, designers and independent workers, and that world runs on flexible schedules. When a client, school or agency suddenly asks for a notarized form or a fingerprint check, a fixed-hours office is the last thing a freelancer wants to plan around. Here is how to handle both without losing a workday.

Why paperwork pops up for independent workers

Freelancers and small creative businesses run into notary and fingerprint requests more often than you might think. A new client may ask for a notarized affidavit or a signed agreement. A school or program may request a background check before you can teach a workshop or work with young people. A licensing agency may require fingerprints as part of an application. We cannot tell you whether your situation requires any of these. The party asking for the paperwork can tell you exactly what they need, and that answer shapes how you prepare.

The notary side, step by step

  1. Ask the requesting party for the final document. Do not sign it yet.

  2. Check the details. Names, dates and any required wording should be complete. Blank fields that should be filled in are a common reason a notary must decline.

  3. Gather ID. A valid government-issued photo ID is required for every signer, and the name should match the document.

  4. Choose a spot. A studio, a shared workspace, your home or another quiet place works. We meet you there.

  5. Sign in front of us. We confirm identity and complete the notarial act the document calls for. We cannot pick the act or advise on content.

The Live Scan side, step by step

  1. Get the Live Scan Request form from the employer, school or agency. It carries the agency's codes, and we cannot choose or fill those in for you.

  2. Bring a valid ID and a way to pay the applicable fees.

  3. Prepare your hands. Clean, dry hands without lotion give better prints.

  4. Meet us where you work. We bring the fingerprinting to you, which saves a commute across town.

  5. Keep your receipt or transaction number. The requesting party may ask for it.

Make it a double appointment

If you need both a notarization and fingerprints, mention that when you book. Combining them can save a second trip and lets you handle your paperwork in one visit, as long as each item is ready when we arrive.

Working around gig timing

Freelancers rarely have nine-to-five availability. We offer overnight and after-hours appointments, along with evenings, nights and weekends when available, so you can book around a client call or a delivery deadline instead of rearranging it. When you contact us, give us a window, not a single minute, and we will see what can be done.

A reminder on limits

We verify identity and complete notarial acts. We capture fingerprints and submit them according to your form. We do not give legal advice, we do not decide eligibility, and we do not see background check results. For anything beyond that, the requesting agency, client or an attorney is the right contact.

If you live or work in Venice and have paperwork waiting, reach out and tell us what you need.
