FAQs

NLCA offers mobile services and office appointments. For all appointments you will need a valid photo ID and complete paperwork or forms. 

Do you take walk-ins?

Appointments are preferred because our mobile services take us out of the office. Please make an appointment if you want to make sure someone will be at the office to help you.

How much are your services?

We charge the standard fee of $15 per notary act. Our rolling fee for fingerprinting is $40 and the government fees vary with each application type (they tend to range from $15-$49). You can learn more about pricing on our Service Menu page. 

Are you really open 24-7?

Yes. We are available for appointments 24-7. There is a $25 fee to make appointments instant (in 2 hours or less) and there is a $45 fee for overnight/urgent appointments from 7PM-7AM.

What is a mobile notary or mobile fingerprinting and how does it work in Los Angeles?

A mobile notary comes to you to provide notary services. You schedule an appointment and pay the $45 travel fee to confirm your appointment. We come to you and provide notary services anywhere in Los Angeles and then you pay for the services you received. All you need is a valid photo ID and your completed paperwork.

We also offer mobile fingerprinting services and bring fingerprinting to you!

You can book an appointment online or call/text to schedule an appointment. What documents are required for an apostille in Los Angeles?

 To get an apostille in California, first, notarize your document with a licensed notary. Then, submit it to the California Secretary of State for authentication. At Notary Livescan CA LLC, we handle the entire process for you—saving you time and effort.

 

You need to bring a current form of valid identification and any paperwork that you need notarized. We help with the rest to make it easy for you.

What is the process for obtaining an apostille in California?

Step 1: Schedule an appointment with Notary Livescan CA

  • Visit our website or call/text us to book your appointment

Step 2: Bring necessary documents

  • Bring a valid photo ID (a current state ID, driver's license, or passport)

  • Bring your documents that need to be notarized and verified by an apostille

Step 3: Complete the notary process

  • Our licensed notaries public will assist you promptly

Step 4: Send notarized documents to apostille

  • Notarized documents are prepared and sent to the apostille-issuing agency along with:

    • an apostille mail request cover sheet,

    • a check  payable to Secretary of State in the amount of $20.00 per Apostille requested for the processing fee,

    • and a self-addressed envelope with a return mailing label 

Step 5: Receive documents from the Secretary of State in the mail

  • Processed documents will be sent back to you with the envelope and postage you submitted 

Where can I get instant passport photos in Los Angeles?

Notary Livescan CA offers mobile services for passport photos and appointments at our Hollywood office. You will need a blank white wall or space behind you with some natural lighting for the passport photo so be aware of that when scheduling mobile services. 

Can I get assistance with passport applications?

Notary Livescan CA offers passport application assistance for first-time applicants and for passport renewals. We offer help to expedite your passport processing depending on travel dates and certain urgent circumstances.
 

For a new passport you need to bring a valid US birth certificate and photo ID like a driver's license.

For a passport renewal you need to bring your most recent passport and any name change document if necessary.

You will also need to bring a blank check. We offer instant passport photos if you need those as well.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, all major credit cards, Cash App, Zelle, and Apple Pay.
